A Heat Wave With Rodin

On the day after Bastille Day we wised up and went to the Rodin Museum in the early afternoon rather than waiting until it is closed in the evening. Since we were there at the hottest part of the day we pretty much sweated out every ounce of moisture we had left in us. It was gross. But surely there is no sacrifice too large to enjoy artwork that you can't see anywhere else. If this penguin could handle the heat, surely we could. You've heard my synopsis on Rodin before; clear back in May I believe it was. I like him a lot, but this time I saw him from a different light since we paid the extra few Euros to go inside the actual museum rather than simply wander around the super cheap gardens. Once again, you won't be seeing any interior photos here because I just feel so bad flashing works of art, and the pictures look crummy unless you do. I was a bit disappointed by the innards of the museum, probably because the cool part were sketches (that's Sara's cup of tea, not mine), and a huge portion of it were works that narrowly escaped the thin line between art and pornography. These sorts of things happen as art gets newer and newer. Down here on the bottom is a statue of a lady carrying a chunk of rock around. She has big feet. Interesting how no one carrying a chunk of rock would ever be in such a position, yet Rodin chose to sculpt it as such.
