Bonjour et bienvenue à mon blog! I started this blog as a way of sharing my experiences in Paris when I interned there during the Summer of 2006. Since then it has become a forum for all things awesome in the lives of my little family and I. Enjoy!

All Hail the Wind Gods!!
Here's Sara at the fountain in the Jardin de Tuileries between the Louvre and the Place de la Concorde. I like the picture because you can see the obelisque and the Arc in the distance. Sara's not very happy because we just got done walking all the way from the Musée Picasso to the Place Vendôme and then across the street and down the way to the fountain. Such a walk would be no problem if it weren't so blasted hot, but after only a few meters we get all sweaty and tired and uncomfortable, turning what was meant to be a quick jaunt into a death march. To make matters worse, the metro station at the Place de Concorde was closed so we had to walk halfway up the Champs Élysées in order to get home and worship the wind gods (see picture to the right). Though the scene looks nice and cool with the night breeze blowing, the truth is au contraire, for the air being blown in is just as hot as the air inside. We actually hit one hundred that week I believe, making for quite a few sleepless nights. Ironically enough, the day Sara flew home the weather shaped up and actually got very cold. I haven't turned the fans on in days. I certainly prefer too cold over too hot any day. Actually, I prefer too hot with an air conditioner. That's the ticket. Air conditioner.
